Description
Elidel 1 % Cream is a medicine used to treat atopic dermatitis (a skin condition that causes swollen, itchy, cracked, dry, and rough patches of skin). This medicine acts by stopping your immune system from producing substances that cause inflammation (redness and swelling), itching, and other symptoms of atopic dermatitis. Elidel 1 % Cream may cause some side effects like redness, itching, irritation, or burning sensation at the site of application. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen. Your doctor may suggest a patch test (a small area of the skin is exposed to the medicine to check if it is safe and non-allergenic) before starting the treatment with Elidel 1 % Cream. Stop using this medicine if you experience allergic reactions like skin rashes, hives (itchy, painful eruptions that sting), difficulty breathing, etc. Elidel 1 % Cream is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area before using the medicine. Apply a thin layer of this medicine over the affected area and spread uniformly. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, and mouth. Rinse with water immediately in case of accidental contact with these areas. Elidel 1 % Cream should be applied in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. It may take a few weeks to see an improvement in your condition. Consult your doctor if you do not see an improvement in your condition or if it gets worse even after six weeks of using Elidel 1 % Cream.
