Eletriptan

Description

Eletriptan is used to reduce the symptoms of migraine headaches with or without aura in adult patients. It inhibits the release of certain substances that are responsible for causing headaches and sensitivity to sound and light. It should be noted that this medicine does not help in the prevention of migraines and it does not reduce the frequency of migraine attacks.

Severe liver impairment

General warnings

Hemiplegic or Basilar migraines

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with Hemiplegic or Basilar migraines. Replacement with a suitable alternative should be considered based on the patient's clinical condition.

High cholesterol levels

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of high cholesterol levels due to the increased risk of severe cardiovascular side effects.

Medicine overuse

This medicine should not be overused. Overuse of this medicine may cause worsening of the headaches. It should be used exactly as prescribed.

Arrhythmias

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of arrhythmias due to the increased risk of worsening of the condition. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Chest, throat, and neck tightness
