Description
Doxolin AX Tablet is a combination of Ambroxol and Doxofylline. This medicine is used for the treatment of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (a condition of lungs in which the airflow is blocked and makes it difficult to breathe). It works by relaxing the muscles in your airways and loosening thick mucus, making it easier to breathe. Doxolin AX Tablet may show some side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, stomach pain and irritation. Inform your doctor if these side effects become severe or persist for a long time. Doxolin AX Tablet can be taken with or without food. For the ease of remembering, take this medicine around the same time every day. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so. Abrupt discontinuation may worsen your condition. Doxolin AX Tablet may interact with the action of other medicines. Inform your doctor about any other health issues like liver, kidney, heart troubles or if you are undergoing any medical treatment before taking this medicine. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a rare but major disorder of the skin and mucous membranes. It occurs due to a reaction to medication and its symptoms are painful rashes and blisters. Doxolin AX Tablet is not recommended for use if you have a known history of Stevens-Johnson syndrome due to the increased risk of worsening of the condition.

Acute myocardial infarction

Acute myocardial infarction is also known as a heart attack. Doxolin AX Tablet is not recommended for use if you have/had a heart attack recently because it may worsen your condition.

This may increase the risk of toxicity and kidney failure. Your doctor will suggest tests to monitor your kidney functions regularly.

Influenza

Influenza is a common viral infection that affects your respiratory system. Doxolin AX Tablet should be used with extreme caution if you have influenza or have taken flu vaccines due to the increased risk of severe side effects.

Missed Dose

If you missed the dose of Doxolin AX Tablet at a given time, then take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Never take more than the dose prescribed by your doctor. If you have intentionally or accidentally consumed more than the prescribed amount of Doxolin AX Tablet, contact your doctor immediately for further guidance.

How it works
Doxolin AX Tablet is a combination of Ambroxol and Doxofylline. Ambroxol promotes mucus clearance and eases a productive cough. Doxofylline relaxes your blood vessels and smooth muscles of the airways to reduce the symptoms of asthma and COPD. Their combination is thus effective than monotherapy.
