Doxapram

Description

Doxapram is a respiratory stimulant used to treat patients with respiratory failure. It is used to stimulate respiration in post-operative patients with respiratory depression and also patients with acute respiratory insufficiency superimposed on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is also indicated to treat mild to moderate respiratory and central nervous system depression in patients due to drug overdosage.

Hyperthyroidism

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with hyperthyroidism (a condition where the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormones) due to the risk of worsening of the patient's condition.
