Derinide 400 MCG Respicap is a corticosteroid medicine (medicines that help in reducing pain, swelling and irritation of the affected part) containing Budesonide. It is used for the maintenance treatment of Asthma (a condition that affects your airways and leads to breathing difficulty) in children (above 5 years), adolescents and adults. Derinide 400 MCG Respicap works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in your body that cause swelling and irritation in the lungs. Derinide 400 MCG Respicap may cause some side effects like thrush (a fungal infection), sore throat, cough and hoarse voice. Inform your doctor if these side effects become severe or persist. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Derinide 400 MCG Respicap is not recommended for use in children below 5 years of age unless prescribed by a doctor. Derinide 400 MCG Respicap is a prescription medicine. It should be used in the dose and for the duration prescribed by your doctor. Follow all the instructions given in the leaflet. For the ease of remembering, use it at the same time every day. Even if you see an improvement in your condition, do not stop using it without consulting your doctor. Infections

Diabetes

Derinide 400 MCG Respicap may increase blood sugar levels. Hence, if you have diabetes use this medicine with caution.

Liver disease

Use Derinide 400 MCG Respicap with caution if you have liver problems. This medicine is broken down in your liver. An impaired liver may lead to the accumulation of this medicine in your body which may damage your liver further. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your liver function.

Decrease bone density

Derinide 400 MCG Respicap may decrease the bone density by reducing calcium absorption. Hence, it should be used with caution due to the risk of developing bone injuries especially if you are a postmenopausal woman.

Growth retardation

Hyperadrenocorticism

Hyperadrenocorticism is a condition caused by prolonged exposure to high levels of cortisol (a corticosteroid hormone).
