Cytoplatin 10 mg Injection is an anticancer agent which is used in the treatment of various cancers of the bladder, male and female reproductive system. It should be used under the supervision of a qualified physician. Close monitoring of kidney function and blood cell count are necessary while receiving this medication.

This medicine is not recommended in breastfeeding women.
General warnings

Impaired kidney function

This medicine may cause severe kidney injury. The risk may increase if taken with aminoglycoside antibiotics. Close monitoring of serum creatinine, urea, and sodium levels is necessary. Do not administer this medicine more than once every 3 to 4 weeks.

Hearing impairment

This medicine may cause the hearing problem which is more common in children. Audiometric testing should be performed before initiating the treatment and also before every dose. Any symptoms of the hearing problem should be reported to the doctor.

Allergy

This medicine may cause serious skin reactions. Discontinue the treatment if any symptoms of allergy appear and do not restart.

Blood cell count

This medicine may lower the white blood cells and platelets. Close monitoring of blood cell count is necessary. Do not start the treatment if the cell count is low.

Infections

The chances of occurring infections are more in patients receiving this medicine. Hold the chemotherapy and start with the broad-spectrum antibiotics if there are any signs and symptoms of fever. Close monitoring of the body temperature and the blood cell count is necessary.

Missed Dose

It is advised not to miss any dose. If you missed any dose, you should contact your doctor immediately.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.
