Cyclopentolate

Description

Cyclopentolate is used to dilate the pupil and to temporarily paralyze the lens for an eye examination or other diagnostic procedures. This medicine may also be used before and after an eye surgery where dilation of the pupil is required.

Driving or Operating machinery

Contamination

Do not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface since this may lead to contamination by bacteria. Patients are advised to take all hygienic precautions to ensure that the medicine is not contaminated.

Contact lens

Patients are advised to remove contact lenses prior to the administration of this medicine. The lenses may be reinserted post your examination as per your physician's advice.

Missed Dose

Since this medicine is usually given prior to eye procedures, the likelihood of missing a dose is very low.

Overdose

Since this medicine is administered in the clinic or hospital setting under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional, the likelihood of an overdose is very low. However, emergency medical treatment will be initiated by the doctor if an overdose is suspected.
