Description
CTD-L 6.25/25 Tablet is a combination medicine used for the treatment of high blood pressure. Frequent monitoring of blood pressure and electrolytes levels is necessary during treatment with this medicine. Patients are advised to maintain a strict exercise and diet regimen along with this medicine to get the best possible effect. This medicine is not recommended for use in children since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Allergy

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to chlorthalidone, other sulfonamides, losartan, any other angiotensin receptor blockers, or any other inactive ingredients present along with these medicines.

Aliskiren

Coadministration of aliskiren and this combination medicine is not recommended due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects. This risk is especially higher in the elderly population and in patients with diabetes and kidney diseases.

Anuria

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with anuria, a condition where the kidney is unable to produce urine.

Severe renal impairment

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe renal impairment (CrCl < 30 ml/min) due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects.

Severe liver impairment

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver impairment due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects.

Pregnancy

General warnings

Hypotension

Symptomatic hypotension may occur in patients with volume depletion or patients who are treated with high-dose diuretics. It is advised to correct this condition before initiating treatment with this combination medicine.

Hyperkalemia

This medicine may increase the potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia). This may cause serious side effects such as fatal cardiac rhythm irregularities. It is advised to avoid potassium-rich foods (potatoes, bananas) and other medicines that may increase potassium levels (ACE inhibitors and potassium supplements) during treatment with this medicine.

Pediatric population

This medicine is not recommended for use in children since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Liver impairment

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patient's suffering from liver diseases due to an increase in the risk of serious adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function is advised while taking this medicine. Report any symptoms of confusion or jaundice to the doctor on priority. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Volume and electrolyte disturbances

This medicine may alter the blood volume and electrolyte levels in some patients. This may cause dizziness, dry mouth, and acid-base imbalance. This risk is especially higher in patients suffering from kidney and liver diseases. Close monitoring of blood pressure and electrolyte levels is recommended for such patients. Renal impairment

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of kidney diseases due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Driving or operating machines

How it works
