Description
Cosvate-GM Cream is a combination of Clobetasol, Gentamicin and Miconazole. It is used to treat skin infections caused by bacteria and fungus. It also helps to relieve redness, swelling, and itching associated with various skin conditions. It works by reducing the production of chemicals responsible for redness and swelling and stopping the growth of microorganisms responsible for infections. Cosvate-GM Cream may cause side effects like burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the application site. These symptoms last only for a very few days and disappear with time. Consult your doctor if these side effects are bothering you. Cosvate-GM Cream is applied as a thin layer to the affected areas 1-2 times a day. Wash and dry the affected areas before application. Avoid contact with your eyes and mouth. Keep the affected area clean and dry because the presence of water can increase microbial growth. If the symptoms are not resolved within seven days, consult your doctor before continuing the treatment. Cosvate-GM Cream is not recommended in children below the age of 12 years or if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor about all your medicines as they can interact with this cream and cause side effects. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before using this medicine.

How it works
Cosvate-GM Cream is composed of Cobetasol, Gentamicin and Miconazole. Clobetasol is a topical steroid that prevents the production of prostaglandins (compounds in the body made of fats that have chemical messenger like effects). Gentamicin works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell walls. This helps in stopping the growth and multiplication of the microorganism, eventually killing it. Miconazole kills the fungus by stopping their cell wall formation. It works by preventing the fungi from making a substance called ergosterol, which is necessary for the production of the cell wall.
