Description

Clotrimazole (Vaginal) is an antifungal medicine used to treat fungal infections of your vagina. It works by stopping the growth of the infection-causing fungi. Clotrimazole (Vaginal) may rarely cause abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, burning sensation/irritation/itchiness, etc. in your vagina. These symptoms usually subside on their own. However, consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or if they become severe. Clotrimazole (Vaginal) should be inserted into your vagina as directed by your doctor. Continue using this medicine for the prescribed duration to effectively treat your infection. Clotrimazole (Vaginal) should be avoided if you are allergic to it. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medication.

Vaginal intercourse

It is recommended to avoid vaginal intercourse while using Clotrimazole (Vaginal) due to the increased risk of your partner being infected.

Use during menstruation

Treatment with Clotrimazole (Vaginal) during your menstrual period should be avoided due to the risk of this medicine being washed out by the menstrual flow. Do not use tampons or other vaginal products while using this medicine.

Use effective contraceptive methods

Clotrimazole (Vaginal) may damage the rubber contraceptives (condoms or diaphragms) and thereby reduce their effectiveness. It is recommended to use an alternative contraceptive method for at least five days after using this medicine.

Missed Dose

Apply the missed dose of Clotrimazole (Vaginal) as soon as you remember. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose
