Description

Impaired liver function

This medicine should be used with caution in patients having an impaired liver function. Inform your doctor about any such instance so that suitable safety monitoring can be done while administration.

Withdrawal

The use of this medicine should not be withdrawn abruptly as you are highly likely to suffer from increased chest pain (angina). Talk to your doctor about gradual dose reduction to avoid this unwanted effects.

Hypotension or cardiogenic shock

Cilnidipine is not recommended in patients suffering from low blood pressure or cardiogenic shock as it may further lower the blood pressure causing severe adverse effects.

Congestive heart failure

Cilnidipine should be used with caution in patients who have suffered a heart attack recently. Suitable dose adjustment and safety monitoring may be required in such cases.
Food interactions
Consumption of grapefruit juice is not recommended as it increases the concentration of Cilnidipine. Symptoms like dizziness, headache, swelling of hands and feet should be reported to the doctor on priority.
Lab interactions

Urinary vanillylmandelic acid

Report the use of this medicine if you have been asked to undergo this test for the presence of adrenal gland tumor. Use of this medicine is likely to give false value that might be higher than normal.
