How it works
Piperacillin works by interfering with certain processes that help the bacteria to grow and increase in number. Tazobactam inhibits some chemicals produced by the bacteria and makes the bacteria more sensitive to piperacillin activity. Their combination thus becomes effective against an extended range of bacteria.
