Description
Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that contains cefuroxime. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, nose, throat, ears, skin, bladder, etc. This medicine prevents infection by killing or stopping the growth of the bacteria. Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Your doctor may advise Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup alone or in combination with other medications to treat bacterial infections. Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup shows some side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Do not use this medicine if your child is previously allergic to it. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or bother your child. Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup is an effective medicine used in infants above 3 months of age. Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup can be given with or without food. Before administration, dissolve the powder in a glass of water. For the ease of remembering, give the dry syrup to your child at the same time every day. Once you started using this medicine for your child, ensure that the entire course of treatment is completed. Avoid unnecessary use of Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup as excessive use may cause the bacteria to become resistant to treatment. Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup may not be suitable for all children. Antibiotic resistance

The entire course of treatment with Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup should be completed, even if the condition of your child gets better after taking few doses to avoid antibiotic resistance.

Diarrhoea

Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup can cause diarrhoea because it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your child's stomach or intestine. Inform your doctor if your child experiences severe diarrhoea while receiving this medicine.

Use in infants

Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup is not recommended for use in infants below 3 months of age as the safety and efficacy data is unavailable.

Antacids

If you are giving antacid containing aluminium and magnesium salts for indigestion to your child, it can reduce the absorption of Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup by reducing the acidity level in the stomach. Therefore, it is recommended to give this antibiotic at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after giving antacids.

Seizures

Avoid using Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup or maintain caution if your child has any seizure episodes, as it can worsen his/her health condition. Your doctor may alter the dose of this medicine if required.

Missed Dose

Dissolve the required amount of Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup in a glass of water. Make sure that your child takes the necessary volume of Cetil 125 MG Dry Syrup. Make sure that you should complete the entire course of this medicine even if the symptoms disappear after few days. If you discontinue using this medicine for your child, there is a chance that the infection may recur. The reconstituted suspension may be stored under refrigeration (2 to 8 degrees Celsius) for a duration of 14 days. Keep away from the reach of children and pets. Do not use it after the expiry date. Ensure that unused medicine is disposed of properly. Do not recommend this medicine to other parents even if their child's condition appears to be the same.
