Pregnancy

General warnings
Use in children
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
Hypotension
This medicine may cause hypotension (low blood pressure), especially when used in combination with other high blood pressure medicines such as diuretics. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended during treatment with this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments should be done based on the clinical condition.
Kidney impairment
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with kidney impairment due to the increased risk of adverse effects. Close monitoring of kidney function, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney impairment.
Diabetes mellitus
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus due to the increased risk of altered blood glucose levels. Close monitoring of blood glucose levels is advised for such patients. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.
Liver impairment
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with liver impairment due to the increased risk of adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Other medicines
Celiprolol may interact with many other medicines and may cause severe adverse effects. Hence, it is advised that you inform the doctor about all your current medicines including any herbs and supplements before beginning treatment with this medicine.
Thyrotoxicosis
This medicine should be used with caution in patients having elevated thyroid hormone levels due to the increased risk of adverse effects. Close monitoring of thyroid function, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Pheochromocytoma
This medicine should be administered with extreme caution in patients suffering from pheochromocytoma, a condition which results in an excess of a substance that controls heartbeat and blood pressure. Appropriate corrective measures, dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Peripheral Vascular Disease
This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from peripheral vascular diseases since it may worsen the patient's condition. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.
Ischemic heart disease
This medicine should not be discontinued abruptly in patients suffering from ischemic heart disease since abrupt discontinuation may worsen the patient's condition. The dosage should be reduced gradually over a period of 1 to 2 weeks along with close monitoring of heart function before the discontinuation of therapy.
Driving or operating machinery
Use of this medicine may cause dizziness, visual disturbances, drowsiness, etc. in some patients. Hence, it is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness such as driving a vehicle or operating heavy machinery if you experience any such symptoms.
