Description
Cardace Am (5/10 mg) Tablet is a combination medicine used for the treatment of high blood pressure. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age. Patients are advised to follow a strict exercise and diet regimen along with this medicine to get the best possible effect.

Allergy

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to amlodipine, other calcium-channel blockers, ramipril, other ACE inhibitors, or any other inactive ingredients present along with them.

Aliskiren

Coadministration of aliskiren and this combination medicine is not recommended due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects. This risk is especially higher in the elderly population and in patients with diabetes and kidney diseases.

Liver impairment

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with liver impairment due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Severe renal impairment

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe renal impairment (CrCl < 40 ml/min) since it may worsen the patient's condition.

Pregnancy

This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women except in life-threatening conditions. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may prescribe a safer alternative based on your clinical condition.

Breast-feeding

This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding or to discontinue the drug based on your clinical condition.
General warnings

Hypotension

Symptomatic hypotension may occur in patients with volume depletion or patients who are treated with high-dose diuretics. It is advised to correct this condition before initiating treatment with this combination medicine.

Hyperkalemia

This medicine may increase the potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia). This may cause serious side effects such as fatal cardiac rhythm irregularities. It is advised to avoid potassium-rich foods (potatoes, bananas) and other medicines that may increase potassium levels (potassium-sparing diuretics and potassium supplements) during treatment with this medicine.

Pediatric population

This medicine is not recommended for use in children since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Cough

This medicine may cause a persistent nonproductive cough in some patients. It is resolved when the medicine is discontinued.

Coronary artery diseases

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with coronary artery diseases since it may worsen the patient's condition. Appropriate corrective measures, dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Driving and operating machines

This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Impaired kidney function

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Close monitoring of renal function is recommended for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

Cardiogenic shock

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from a cardiogenic shock since it may worsen the patient's condition.

Consumption of grapefruit juice is not recommended during treatment with this medicine due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects such as dizziness, headache, swelling of hands and feet, etc.

How it works
