Description
Carbatol 300 MG Tablet is a medicine that contains Carbamazepine. It is used in the treatment of certain types of seizures (a sudden, uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain causing abnormal behaviour and loss of consciousness) and trigeminal neuralgia (a nerve disorder that affects the face causing sudden and severe pain). Carbatol 300 MG Tablet works by decreasing the abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Carbatol 300 MG Tablet shows side effects like fatigue, loss of coordination, dry mouth, headache, nausea, etc. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or become severe. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines as this medicine can cause dizziness or drowsiness, and can affect your mental focus. Carbatol 300 MG Tablet may also cause mood and behavioural changes. If you experience mood changes or suicidal thoughts, contact your doctor immediately. Carbatol 300 MG Tablet may be taken with or without food as prescribed by your doctor. Take this medicine at the same time every day for the ease of remembering. The dose and duration of treatment will be determined by your doctor based on your condition. Continue taking Carbatol 300 MG Tablet for the prescribed duration as abrupt discontinuation may cause increased seizure frequency. Carbatol 300 MG Tablet should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have kidney, liver, or heart problems, or any other medical conditions. Also, inform your doctor about all your ongoing medications, as certain medications may interact with Carbatol 300 MG Tablet and cause undesired effects. Porphyria

Carbatol 300 MG Tablet may cause a decrease in blood cell counts, such as red blood cells, disease-fighting cells, and blood clot-forming cells. Your doctor may suggest blood tests to check your complete blood counts before starting the treatment with this medicine. Also, periodic blood tests may be recommended by your doctor while you are taking this medicine to monitor your condition.

Withdrawal symptoms

Abrupt discontinuation of Carbatol 300 MG Tablet may increase the seizure frequency. Hence your doctor will recommend a gradual dose reduction over a period. Avoid the discontinuation of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Driving or operating machines
