Description
Budez 3 MG Capsule is a corticosteroid medicine (medicines that help in reducing pain, swelling, and irritation of the affected part) containing Budesonide. It is used in the treatment of Crohn's disease (a bowel condition that causes inflammation of the lining of the stomach and intestine). Budez 3 MG Capsule works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in your body that cause swelling and irritation. Budez 3 MG Capsule may cause side effects like diarrhoea, headache, thrush (a fungal infection), sore throat, cough and hoarse voice. Inform your doctor if these side effects become severe or persist. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. Budez 3 MG Capsule is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age unless prescribed by your doctor. Budez 3 MG Capsule is a prescription medicine. The dose of the medicine and duration of the treatment will be decided by your doctor based on your condition. Follow all the instructions given by your doctor. For the ease of remembering, take it around the same time every day. Even if you see an improvement in your condition, do not stop using it without consulting your doctor. If you discontinue the use of Budez 3 MG Capsule too soon, your symptoms may relapse. Budez 3 MG Capsule may interact with other medicines. Inform your doctor about the use of other medicines that you may be using. Also, inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, heart problems before taking this medicine. General warnings

Infections

Budez 3 MG Capsule will decrease the immunity (defence mechanism) of your body and mask the symptoms of infection. This will increase the risk of secondary infections (that occurs during or after treating an infection). Hence, use this medicine with caution and your doctor's supervision.

Diabetes

Budez 3 MG Capsule may increase blood sugar levels. Hence, if you have diabetes use this medicine with caution.

Liver disease

Use Budez 3 MG Capsule with caution if you have liver problems. This medicine is broken down in the liver. An impaired liver may lead to the accumulation of this medicine in your body which may damage the liver further. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your liver function.

Decrease bone density

Budez 3 MG Capsule may decrease the bone density by reducing calcium absorption. Hence, it should be used with caution due to the risk of developing bone injuries especially if you are a postmenopausal woman.

Candida infection

Use of Budez 3 MG Capsule for extended periods may cause candida infection (a fungal infection that may affect your mouth, throat and nose). Hence, avoid using it for a long time.

Missed Dose

If you missed a dose of Budez 3 MG Capsule, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose. Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose of Budez 3 MG Capsule.

Hyperadrenocorticism is a condition caused by prolonged exposure to high levels of cortisol (a corticosteroid hormone). Budez 3 MG Capsule may occasionally cause hyperadrenocorticism symptoms like weight gain, round face, thin arms and legs etc. Hence, do not take this medicine for a long time without consulting your doctor.

Ocular herpes simplex

Ocular herpes infection is a condition of the eye caused by the Herpes simplex virus (HSV) which often leads to blindness. Avoid using Budez 3 MG Capsule in such a condition as it may increase the risk of damage or perforation in the cornea (protective outer layer of your eyes).
