Biopril Am (5/5 mg) Tablet is a combination of Amlodipine and Lisinopril. Amlodipine relaxes the heart muscles and the blood vessels and reduce the pressure on them, thereby lowers the blood pressure Lisinopril decreases the formation of angiotensin II (a substance that tightens the blood vessels). Thus, it relaxes the blood vessels and promotes the smooth flow of blood. The combination of Amlodipine and Lisinopril uses both mechanisms to cause greater relaxation of the heart and blood vessels which reduces blood pressure and strain on the heart.
