Description
Benidin Trio 6.25 Tablet is a combination of medicine which may be used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). It may also help to reduce the risk of adverse effects on the heart (complications) associated with high blood pressure levels. Patients are advised to maintain a strict exercise and diet regimen along with this medicine to get the best possible effect.

Allergy

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to chlorthalidone, other sulfonamides, telmisartan, benidipine, or any other inactive ingredients present in the formulation.

Aliskiren

Coadministration of aliskiren and this combination medicine is not recommended due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects. This risk is especially higher in the elderly population and in patients with diabetes and kidney diseases.

Anuria

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with anuria (a condition where the kidney is unable to produce urine) due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Severe kidney impairment

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe Kidney impairment (CrCl < 30 ml/min) due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Severe liver impairment

General warnings

Use in Children

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Use in Elderly

This medicine should be used with caution in elderly patients due to the increased risk of very low blood pressure levels. Hyperkalemia

This medicine may increase potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia). This may cause serious side effects such as fatal cardiac rhythm irregularities. It is advised to avoid potassium-rich foods (potatoes, bananas) and other medicines that may increase potassium levels (ACE inhibitors and potassium supplements) during treatment with this medicine. Hypotension

How it works
Chlorthalidone works by increasing the excretion of water and sodium from the kidneys. This helps in bringing down the blood pressure as well as swelling. Benidipine and Telmisartan both relax the blood vessels, thus improving blood flow and reducing blood pressure levels. Their combination is thus effective in treating hypertension.
