How it works
Benadryl Cough Formula Syrup is a combination of Diphenhydramine, Ammonium Chloride, and Sodium Citrate. Diphenhydramine works by blocking the action of histamine, a chemical substance in your body responsible for allergic symptoms. Thus, it provides relief from allergies. Ammonium Chloride is an expectorant (a medicine used to clear throat congestion). It works by reducing the stickiness of phlegm (mucus) and helps in its removal through cough. Sodium Citrate acts as a mucolytic. It works by reducing mucus thickness, improving its clearance, and making it easier to cough out.
