Description
Banhelmin 200 MG Suspension is an antiparasitic medicine that is used to treat parasitic infections caused by tapeworms. It works by decreasing the energy sources of the parasite (organisms that live in other organisms for survival), making it weaker and eventually killing it. Banhelmin 200 MG Suspension may cause common side effects such as headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, hair loss, fever, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms stay for a long time or if they become severe. Banhelmin 200 MG Suspension should be taken exactly as advised by your doctor. Take it at the same time every day to maintain a constant level of this medicine in your body. Banhelmin 200 MG Suspension is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. It is also not safe to use in children below 2 years of age as the safety and efficacy data for use is not available. Liver Diseases

Bone Marrow Suppression

Banhelmin 200 MG Suspension may alter the functionality of bone marrow (soft portion present inside the bone, responsible for the formation of blood cells) resulting in a decreased count of white blood cells. Inform your doctor on priority if any such abnormalities are observed.

Seizures

Treatment with Banhelmin 200 MG Suspension for neurocysticercosis (a serious infection of the brain) should be given with caution if you have a history of seizures (fits) due to the increased risk of a seizure attack. Treatment with an anti-seizure medication may be required based on your clinical condition.

Women of child-bearing age

It is not recommended to become pregnant while on treatment with Banhelmin 200 MG Suspension, or within 1 month of completing treatment due to the increased risk of foetal side effects.

Anaemia

Anaemia is a condition of low blood count in your body. Use Banhelmin 200 MG Suspension with caution as it may cause this condition.

Use in children

Banhelmin 200 MG Suspension is not recommended for use in children below 2 years of age as the safety and efficacy data for use is not available.
