Description
Aten-D Tablet is a combination medicine which may be used to reduce hypertension (high blood pressure) as well as edema (swelling) and fluid retention caused by heart diseases. It may also be used for treating other complications associated with heart and blood vessels. Patients are advised to follow a strict exercise and diet regimen along with this medicine to get the best possible effect. It should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney diseases due to the increased risk of severe side effects. Frequent monitoring of blood pressure and electrolytes level is necessary while taking this medicine.

Allergy

Severe pulmonary edema

Anuria

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with anuria (a condition where the kidney is unable to produce urine) due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Thyroid function tests

How it works
Atenolol relaxes the blood vessels and reduces the heart rate, promoting a smooth flow of the blood. Indapamide increases the excretion of water and sodium through the urine. Their combination is thus effective in reducing the blood pressure.
