Armodafinil

Description

Armodafinil is used to promote wakefulness in patients with extreme sleepiness during daytime or sleepiness due to sleeping disorders. It also helps in staying awake during work hours if the work schedule is not adjusted to having a scheduled sleeping time. It will not cure the sleep disorders or get rid of all kind of sleepiness. It should not be used to hold off sleep in those who do not have any sleeping disorders.

General warnings

Drowsiness

This medicine may not completely cure the sleepiness caused by your disorder. This may cause drowsiness or dizziness. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness like driving a vehicle or operating machinery during treatment with this medicine.

Consumption of alcohol

Do not consume alcohol during treatment with Armodafinil due to the increased risk of drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired judgment.

Contraception

Hormonal contraceptive methods will not work properly while taking Armodafinil. This may result in an unwanted pregnancy. It is advised that you use alternative methods of birth control while taking this medicine and for 1 month after stopping treatment with this medicine.

Missed Dose

If a dose of Armodafinil is missed, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. If it is almost time for the next dose, continue with the normal dosing schedule. Do not double your dose to make up for the forgotten dose. It is advised that you do not take this medicine if it is too late in a waking day since you may find it difficult to sleep at night.

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact a doctor immediately in case of an overdose.
