Description
Andriol 40 mg Capsule consists of a male sex hormone called Testosterone, which plays a crucial role in masculine growth, increasing muscle mass, boosting sexual drive, regulating fertility, etc. This medicine is used to treat various conditions caused by decreased testosterone levels in the body such as delayed puberty, impotence, loss of bone mass, erectile dysfunction (a condition where a man is unable to achieve and/or maintain an erection adequate for sexual intercourse), etc. It works by restoring the balance of testosterone hormone in the body. Andriol 40 mg Capsule may cause certain side effects like hair loss, weight gain, pimples, difficulty sleeping, headache, nausea, vomiting, flushing, etc. Most of these are temporary and resolve on their own. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen. Andriol 40 mg Capsule is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age. Andriol 40 mg Capsule is usually taken with or after food to avoid stomach irritation. Take it at the same time every day to maintain a constant level of medicine in your body. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor. Follow all the instructions given by your doctor regarding the use of this medicine. Andriol 40 mg Capsule is not recommended if you are allergic to it or have prostate or male breast cancer. Heart diseases

Andriol 40 mg Capsule should be used with caution if you have heart problems. This medicine may cause high blood pressure and increase the risk of heart attack or stroke (reduced blood supply to the brain). Your doctor may periodically monitor your heart function and recommend regular blood pressure monitoring while you are taking this medicine.

Polycythemia

Andriol 40 mg Capsule should be used with caution if you have been diagnosed with polycythemia (a condition with excess production of RBC in the blood) as it may worsen your condition. Your doctor may suggest blood tests to monitor haemoglobin (an iron-containing protein responsible for carrying oxygen), and haematocrit (the ratio of the volume of red blood cells to the total volume of blood), levels during treatment with this medicine.

Hypercalcaemia

Andriol 40 mg Capsule may decrease the excretion of calcium from the body. Hence it should be used with caution in hypercalcaemia, kidney dysfunction, or hyperparathyroidism (an abnormally high concentration of parathyroid hormone in the blood which may cause an increase in calcium levels in the blood) as it may worsen your condition. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your calcium levels while you are taking this medicine.

Testosterone abuse

Prolonged use and higher doses of Andriol 40 mg Capsule than prescribed should be avoided due to the increased risk of testosterone abuse.

Missed Dose
