Description

Tenolam Tablet is a combination of Tenofovir and Lamivudine. It is an antiviral medicine used for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection (a condition that occurs when the virus attacks the immune system and interferes with your body's ability to fight infections or diseases). Tenolam Tablet will not cure HIV infection, but it will delay the progression of a chronic, potentially life-threatening condition known as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and other HIV-related conditions. This medicine works by preventing the virus from multiplying. Tenolam Tablet shows common side effects such as rash, pain, diarrhoea, headache or depressed mood. These side effects usually subside with time. However, consult your doctor for further assistance if they persist or worsen. Tenolam Tablet can be taken with or without food. Do not break, chew or crush the tablet. Swallow it whole with a glass of water. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting your doctor as it may cause a risk of re-infection which can be challenging to treat in the future. Complete the treatment even if you start feeling better. Follow the instructions given by your doctor about the dose and duration of the treatment. Tenolam Tablet is not recommended if you are allergic to it. It should be taken with caution if you have a pancreas (an organ near the stomach that helps in the digestion of food), liver or kidney condition, or low mineral density. Tenolam Tablet should only be taken during pregnancy after consulting your doctor. You are advised not to breastfeed if you are infected with HIV-1 to avoid any transmission to your baby. It should be given to children or adults with at least 35 kg weight.
