Description

Sucralcoat-O Suspension is a combination of Oxetacaine and Sucralfate. It is used to treat stomach and intestinal ulcers (painful sores). Sucralfate works by forming a protective coating on the surface of your ulcer and helps in healing. Oxetacaine produces a numbing effect and provides relief from pain. Sucralcoat-O Suspension may cause a common side effect of constipation. Other less common side effects include indigestion, nausea, vomiting, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or if they become severe. Sucralcoat-O Suspension should be taken exactly as advised by your doctor. Take it at the same time every day to maintain a constant level of this medicine in your body. Sucralcoat-O Suspension should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have diabetes (high blood sugar levels) or kidney problems before taking this medicine. Close evaluation with respect to your current medicines is necessary to avoid any undesired side effects. If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding consult your doctor before taking this medication.

Gastrointestinal ulcers are painful sores on the lining of your stomach and intestines. Symptoms may include severe upper abdominal pain, heartburn (burning sensation in your chest), vomiting, dark/tarry stools, bloating, etc. Sucralcoat-O Suspension is used in the treatment of gastrointestinal ulcers.
