Description

Ricime-L-100 Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat a variety of conditions like urinary tract infections, lung infections, etc caused by bacteria in patients who are at risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea. This medicine is not recommended for use in case of common cold, flu or viral infections since it is active against the infections caused by certain bacterial species only.

What is it prescribed for?

Urinary Tract Infection

This medicine may be used in the treatment of urinary tract infections caused by E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococci, and Klebsiella pneumoniae in patients who are prone to antibiotic-associated diarrhea.

Respiratory Tract Infection

This medicine may be used for the treatment of infections in the respiratory tract such as tonsilitis/pharyngitis, bronchitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and some fungal infections in patients who are prone to antibiotic-associated diarrhea.

Biliary tract infections

This medicine may be used in the treatment of biliary tract infections in patients who are prone to antibiotic-associated diarrhea.

General warnings

Bleeding disorders

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with bleeding disorders due to the increased risk of excessive bleeding. Regular monitoring of prothrombin time is necessary in such cases. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Kidney disease

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with an impaired kidney function due to increased risk of severe adverse effects. Appropriate dose adjustments are to be made based on the creatinine clearance (CrCl) or estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). An alternative treatment option should be considered in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Use in Children

This medicine is not recommended for use in children less than 6 months of age since the safety and effectiveness of use are not clinically established in this particular age group.

Drug resistance

Usage of this medicine without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that are drug resistant.

Driving or Operating machinery

Use of this medicine may cause dizziness or lightheadedness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
