Propylthiouracil

Description

Propylthiouracil is used for the treatment of Graves' disease and hyperthyroidism, a condition where the thyroid gland produces an excessive amount of thyroid hormones. It is also used to relieve the symptoms of hyperthyroidism before thyroid surgery or radioactive iodine treatment.

Hypothyroidism

This medicine should be used with caution due to the increased risk of hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone levels). Agranulocytosis
