Premarin Tablet

Manufactured byPFIZER LTD
1255.8
28 TABLET ( 28 / STRIP )

Description

Premarin Tablet is a mixture of oestrogen hormones. It is used for the treatment of hormone-mediated diseases like osteoporosis (a condition leading to brittle and fragile bones), some forms of breast cancers, prostate cancer, etc. It is also used to treat the symptoms of menopause (time that marks the end of the menstrual cycle) like hot flashes, vaginal drying, and itching, etc. Premarin Tablet works by replacing or replenishing the hormone oestrogen that is normally produced in the body. It can cause side effects like headache, body ache, tiredness etc. Most of these are temporary and resolve on their own. Consult your doctor if these side effects are persistent or worsening. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine as it can make you feel dizzy. Premarin Tablet is usually taken with food to avoid stomach irritation. Take this medicine at the same time every day to maintain a constant level of medicine in your body. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor as your symptoms may reoccur. Premarin Tablet is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor all about your current medications and existing medical conditions. This will help your doctor to adjust your dose for avoiding side effects. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Female hypogonadism

Female hypogonadism develops when the sex glands produce little or no sex hormones, resulting in reduced functioning of ovaries in females. Premarin Tablet is used to treat this condition by increasing the level of female sex hormone, i.e. oestrogen.

Primary ovarian failure

Primary ovarian insufficiency (POI), also known as premature ovarian failure, happens when a woman's ovaries stop working normally before 40 years of age. This can result in low estrogen levels and infertility. Premarin Tablet is used to treat the symptoms of primary ovarian failure by increasing the levels of oestrogen.

Vaginal atrophy

Vaginal atrophy (atrophic vaginitis) is a condition where the lining of the vagina gets drier and thinner due to decreased oestrogen levels. This results in itching, burning and pain during sex, etc. Premarin Tablet is used in the treatment of this condition by increasing the oestrogen levels in your body.

Postmenopausal osteoporosis

Postmenopausal osteoporosis generally develops after menopause, when oestrogen levels decrease. It is the most common type of osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a condition that causes your bones to become weak and brittle. Premarin Tablet is used to prevent and treat the symptoms of osteoporosis in women who have reached menopause.
