Description

Pepsigard 1000 MG Tablet is a protective medicine. It is used to treat stomach and intestinal ulcers (painful sores on the inner lining of your intestine). It works by forming a protective coating on the surface of your ulcer and helps in healing. Pepsigard 1000 MG Tablet may cause a common side effect of constipation. Other less common side effects include indigestion, nausea, vomiting, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or if they become severe. Pepsigard 1000 MG Tablet should be taken exactly as advised by your doctor. Take it at the same time every day to maintain a constant level of this medicine in your body. Pepsigard 1000 MG Tablet should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have diabetes (a condition where blood sugar levels are high) or kidney problems before taking this medicine. Close evaluation with respect to your current medicines is necessary to avoid any undesired side effects. If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding consult your doctor before taking this medication.

What is it prescribed for?

Gastrointestinal ulcers are painful sores on the lining of your stomach and intestines. Symptoms may include severe upper abdominal pain, heartburn (burning sensation in your chest), vomiting, dark/tarry stools, bloating, etc. Pepsigard 1000 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of gastrointestinal ulcers.

Antacids

When taking antacids along with Pepsigard 1000 MG Tablet, it is recommended to maintain a dosing gap of at least 30 minutes.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Pepsigard 1000 MG Tablet. Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose to compensate for a missed one.

Overdose

Chronic kidney disease is a long-term condition that causes a gradual loss of kidney function. Pepsigard 1000 MG Tablet should be used with caution if you have this condition due to the increased risk of severe side effects.
