Description

O Cebran 0.3% Drops is an antibiotic medicine that contains Ofloxacin. It is used to treat eyes and ear infections. As eye drops, it treats infection of the cornea (a transparent layer that covers the front part of the eye) and conjunctivitis (pink eye) caused by bacteria. As ear drops, it treats outer and middle ear bacterial infections. It stops the growth and multiplication of bacteria that cause infection. O Cebran 0.3% Drops may cause side effects like irritation, redness, itching of eyes and ears, watery eyes, etc. These side effects are temporary and resolve within a few days after the treatment. This medicine may cause a visual disturbance. Avoid driving vehicles after using this medicine. Consult your doctor if these side effects get worsen. Avoid using O Cebran 0.3% Drops if you are allergic to it. O Cebran 0.3% Drops is a prescription medicine. Wash your hands properly before administering this medicine. Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the dropper close to your eye and squeeze the dropper so that a drop falls in the pocket. Close your eyes for 2 to 3 minutes and repeat the same for the next dose. For ear drops, tilt your head sideways and squeeze the dropper to put drops inside your ear. O Cebran 0.3% Drops is not recommended for use in children below 1 year of age. Do not use contact lenses during the treatment as they can increase the infection severity. Inform your doctor about your current medicines and medical conditions before using this medicine. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor.

What is it prescribed for?

Bacterial Conjunctivitis

Bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a bacterial eye infection affecting the conjunctiva (a clear tissue covering the white part of your eye and lines the inside of the eyelid). This infection can easily spread by direct or indirect contact with an infected person. It is more common in children and can be treated quickly in a couple of days. O Cebran 0.3% Drops is used in the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis.

Corneal Ulcers

At the front of your eye is a transparent layer of tissue called the cornea that allows light to enter your eye. A corneal ulcer is a small ulcer of the cornea, that occurs from an infection caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi. More often it occurs in contact lens wearers. A small scratch, scrape or cut on the cornea caused by wearing contact lenses for a long duration can cause infection. O Cebran 0.3% Drops is used in the treatment of corneal ulcers caused by bacteria.

Otitis Externa

Otitis externa or Swimmer’s ear is an infection in the ear canal, which connects the outside of the ear to the eardrum. Normally, earwax helps to protect your ear canal from infection. Putting fingers, cotton swabs or other objects to clean your ears, can rub away the earwax or scratch your skin. This allows germs to grow and leads to infection. O Cebran 0.3% Drops is used for the treatment of otitis externa caused by bacteria.

Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media

Chronic suppurative otitis media is an infection of the middle ear usually caused by an ear injury or blockage of the eustachian tube (a narrow tube that connects the middle ear and the back of the nose). O Cebran 0.3% Drops is used for the treatment of chronic suppurative otitis media.

Acute otitis media

Acute otitis media (AOM), is an infection of the middle ear (the area behind the eardrum), common in infants and young children. O Cebran 0.3% Drops is used to treat acute otitis media caused by bacteria.

Antibiotic resistance

Finish your entire course of treatment with O Cebran 0.3% Drops, even if your condition gets better to avoid antibiotic resistance (the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics). If you still feel ill after completing your antibiotic course, make an appointment to consult your doctor.

Driving or operating machinery

O Cebran 0.3% Drops may cause short term blurring of vision, burning sensation or discomfort in your eyes when it is used. You should be cautious about these symptoms before driving vehicles or operating machines.

Use in children

O Cebran 0.3% Drops is not recommended for use in children less than 1 year of age unless directed by your doctor.

Contact lens

Do not wear contact lenses when you are suffering from an eye infection.

Contamination

Do not touch the tip of the dropper or any other surface while administering O Cebran 0.3% Drops as this may lead to contamination of this medicine.

Missed Dose

Do not skip any dose of O Cebran 0.3% Drops. If you forget to administer a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If your next dose time is near, skip the missed dose and take your next scheduled dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

How it works
