Description

Nimorazole is an antiprotozoal medicine used to treat infections caused by protozoa in the stomach, intestines, or genital areas. It is also used to treat certain infections of the gum (acute ulcerative gingivitis).

What is it prescribed for?

Trichomoniasis

This medicine is used for the treatment of trichomoniasis infection, which is a sexually transmitted disease caused by Trichomonas vaginalis. The symptoms are dominant in women and include painful urination, abnormal and foul smelling discharge from the vagina, etc.

Giardiasis

This medicine is used for the treatment of Giardiasis, an infection of the small intestine caused by Giardia lamblia (the giardia parasite).

Amebiasis

This medicine is used for the treatment of amebiasis, an infection of the intestine caused by Entamoeba histolytica strains of protozoa. The most prominent symptoms associated with this infection are loose stools, stomach cramps, pain in the stomach, etc. The parasites can also enter other organs and cause abscesses and other complications.

Gingivitis

This medicine is used for the treatment of acute ulcerative gingivitis, a form of gum disease caused by bacteria. It is characterized by redness, swelling, and bleeding of the gums.
