Description

Neklitro 250 MG Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used for the treatment of bacterial infections of the lungs, airways, ears, and skin. It is also used with other medications to kill helicobacter pylori bacteria that cause stomach ulcers. Neklitro 250 MG Tablet stops the growth of bacteria that cause infection. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses such as cold or flu. Neklitro 250 MG Tablet shows some common side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Inform your doctor if these symptoms persist for a long time. Use Neklitro 250 MG Tablet cautiously if you have gastrointestinal problems, particularly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon) due to the risk of severe diarrhoea. Neklitro 250 MG Tablet can be taken with or without food. For the ease of remembering, take it around the same time every day. Once treatment with Neklitro 250 MG Tablet is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. Neklitro 250 MG Tablet is generally not recommended during pregnancy, and it is acceptable to use in breastfeeding as very little amounts of it pass into the breastmilk. Do not use Neklitro 250 MG Tablet in children under 12 years of age. Inform your doctor if you have any liver, heart and Kidney problems, before taking this medicine. Neklitro 250 MG Tablet can cause dizziness or drowsiness. Hence, avoid driving vehicles or operating machines. Take this medicine only as per your doctor's instructions to avoid developing bacterial resistance. Avoid taking any antacids with Neklitro 250 MG Tablet as it can decrease its absorption and effect.

What is it prescribed for?

Pharyngitis/Tonsilitis

Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are infections that cause swelling and soreness in the throat and tonsils. If this infection affects both the throat and the tonsils, then it would be called pharyngotonsillitis. Neklitro 250 MG Tablet is used to treat pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and/or pharyngotonsillitis.

Bronchitis

Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of airway passages in your lungs which is characterized by cough, wheezing, shortness of breath and fever. Neklitro 250 MG Tablet is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.

Community-acquired pneumonia

Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) refers to pneumonia (lung infection) wherein one gets infected in a community setting. It does not happen in a hospital, nursing home, or other healthcare centres. CAP can be caused by bacteria or viruses. Neklitro 250 MG Tablet is used to treat CAP caused by bacteria like Mycoplasma pneumonia, Streptococcus pneumonia, Haemophilus influenzae, etc.

Peptic ulcer

A peptic ulcer is a sore or ulcer on the lining of your stomach or intestine. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) are bacteria that cause ulcers. Neklitro 250 MG Tablet is used in combination with antacids/anti-ulcerative medicines for the treatment of H. pylori infections that cause peptic ulcers. Your doctor will advise suitable strength and dosage form based on your condition and age.

Skin and soft tissue infections

Skin and soft tissue infections occur when the bacteria invade the skin and its supporting structures. Neklitro 250 MG Tablet is used to treat all skin infections including abscess (a pus pocket) caused by bacteria.

Sinusitis

Sinusitis is a condition in which the cavities around your nasal passages become swollen. It is often caused by bacteria and sometimes, viruses and fungi. You may experience a stuffed nose and pain or pressure behind your eyes, nose, cheeks, or forehead. Neklitro 250 MG Tablet is used to treat bacterial sinusitis.

Kidney diseases

Neklitro 250 MG Tablet is filtered by the kidney and eliminated through urine. If you have kidney problems, you need special consideration while taking Neklitro 250 MG Tablet due to the risk of kidney damage. Your doctor will adjust the dose based on your clinical condition.

Antacids

If you are taking an antacid containing aluminium and magnesium salts for indigestion, it can delay the effects of Neklitro 250 MG Tablet. Hence, it is recommended to take this medicine at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking antacids.

Antibiotic resistance

Finish your entire course of treatment with Neklitro 250 MG Tablet, even if the condition gets better to avoid antibiotic resistance (a condition where microbes evolve mechanisms that protect them from the effects of antibiotics). If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, consult your doctor for further advice.

Diarrhoea

Neklitro 250 MG Tablet can cause diarrhoea because it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Get emergency medical help if you experience severe diarrhoea that is watery or bloody. Consult your doctor before taking anti-diarrhoeal medication.

Driving or operating machiners

Neklitro 250 MG Tablet may cause blurred vision, dizziness, or confusion. Hence, do not perform activities such as driving vehicles or operating machines if you experience any of these symptoms.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take a dose of Neklitro 250 MG Tablet, make sure that you remember to take your next dose when it is due. Do not take two doses together to make up for a forgotten dose.
