Description

Moxclav BD (200/28.5 mg) Drops is a combination of Amoxycillin and Clavulanic acid. Moxclav BD (200/28.5 mg) Drops is used orally to treat many bacterial infections of the lungs, middle ear, sinuses, skin, teeth, and urinary tract. Amoxycillin interferes with the growth and division process of the bacterial cell wall while Clavulanic acid enhances the activity of Amoxycillin against bacteria. The common side effects of Moxclav BD (200/28.5 mg) Drops use are nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and skin rash. Consult your child's doctor at the earliest if any of these side effects persist or worsen. Before giving this medicine to your child, inform your doctor if your child is allergic to any antibiotics or has experienced any allergic reactions after taking antibiotics. You can give Moxclav BD (200/28.5 mg) Drops to your child with food as it improves absorption and decreases the risks of stomach upset. Your child's doctor will decide the dose and frequency based on the severity of the infection, your child's body weight and age. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed. Also, ensure to complete the course of treatment even if your child starts feeling better. This medicine is generally meant to be used in children. Moxclav BD (200/28.5 mg) Drops is used to treat acute otitis media caused by bacteria. Applying a warm, moist washcloth over the infected ear can also help to reduce the swelling of the middle ear along with this medicine.

Sinusitis

Sinusitis is the swelling of membranes that line your nose and surrounding sinuses (four paired spaces in the head). It is often caused by bacteria and sometimes, viruses and fungi. You may experience a stuffed nose and pain or pressure behind your eyes, nose, cheeks, or forehead. Moxclav BD (200/28.5 mg) Drops is used to treat bacterial sinusitis.

Lower Respiratory Tract Infection

Moxclav BD (200/28.5 mg) Drops is used to treat the following lung infections: 1. Pneumonia is an infection of the air sacs in the lungs (either single or both lungs). It can be bacterial and viral. This tablet is used to treat pneumonia caused by bacteria. 2. Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. It is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria. 3. Tuberculosis is a lung infection caused by bacteria. Moxclav BD (200/28.5 mg) Drops kills this bacteria that is resistant to multiple antibiotics.

Skin Infection

Skin and soft tissue infections occur when the bacteria invade the skin and its supporting structures. Moxclav BD (200/28.5 mg) Drops is used to treat all skin infections including abscess caused by bacteria.

Urinary Tract Infection

An infection in any part of your urinary system- the kidneys, bladder, ureters (tubes that propel urine from kidneys to the urinary bladder), or urethra (lower opening of bladder) is called urinary tract infection (UTIs). Mononucleosis (kissing disease) may develop a maculopapular skin rash after 5-10 days of treatment with this medicine and resolves within days of discontinuing the use. Moxclav BD (200/28.5 mg) Drops may not be appropriate medicine in patients with mononucleosis.

Colitis

Moxclav BD (200/28.5 mg) Drops can kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and leads to diarrhoea. Therefore, use this tablet with extreme caution if there is colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon).

Kidney Disease

Patients with kidney diseases need special consideration while taking Moxclav BD (200/28.5 mg) Drops due to the risk of kidney damage. Dose adjustment should be done based on the clinical condition.
