Rheumatic disorders
Rheumatic disorders refer to various conditions that cause your immune system to attack your joints, muscles, bones, etc. It may cause pain, stiffness, and swelling in the joints or other affected areas. Medrol 4 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of rheumatic disorders.
Nephrotic syndrome
Nephrotic syndrome is a kidney disorder that results in the elimination of excess proteins from the body through the urine. Medrol 4 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of Nephrotic syndrome.
Asthma
Asthma is a condition characterised by difficulty in breathing due to the narrowing of the airways and excess production of mucous. The symptoms include wheezing, persistent cough, shortness of breath, etc. Medrol 4 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of asthma.
Skin conditions
Medrol 4 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of various skin conditions like:
1. Pemphigus Vulgaris is a rare skin condition that causes blistering, sores, and erosion of your skin and mucous membrane. It can affect the mouth, nose, throat, eyes, and genitals.
2. Severe Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes red, itchy scaly patches, most commonly on the knees, elbows, trunk, and scalp.
3. Exfoliative dermatitis is redness and peeling of the skin over large areas of the body.
4. Bullous dermatitis herpetiformis is a chronic blistering skin condition characterised by intensely itchy blisters filled with a watery fluid.
5. Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a serious skin condition that causes the development of rashes or blisters on the skin, which then peels off. It may also affect the mucous membranes, including the eyes, genitals, and mouth.
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
Systemic lupus erythematosus is a condition in which your body attacks its own tissue and causes swelling and pain. It affects skin, blood, joints, kidney, brain, heart, and lungs. The symptoms include tiredness, joint pain/swelling, hair loss, headache, anaemia (low blood count), blood clotting problems, skin rash, etc. Medrol 4 MG Tablet is used to treat this condition.
Eye disorders
Medrol 4 MG Tablet is used to treat eye conditions like:
1. Anterior/posterior uveitis is the swelling of the middle layer of the eye, which is called the uvea.
2. Optic neuritis is an inflammatory eye condition that affects the nerve responsible for the vision and may lead to permanent blindness.
3. Iritis is inflammation (swelling) of the iris, the colored part of the eye.
4. Iridocyclitis is an inflammation of the iris (the colored part of the eye) and the ciliary body (muscles and tissue involved in focusing the eye).
5. Sympathetic ophthalmia is a rare eye condition that can develop after an eye injury or within days or weeks after eye surgery.
Lichen Planus
Lichen planus is an itchy skin rash that is not contagious. This condition mostly occurs in certain parts of the body such as skin, hair, nails, or mucous membranes. Medrol 4 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of lichen planus by reducing inflammation (swelling).
Keloids
A keloid is the growth of extra scar tissue. It occurs where the skin has healed after an injury due to the over-deposition of a protein called collagen. Medrol 4 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of keloids.
Granuloma annulare
Granuloma annulare is a skin condition that is characterised by raised rash or bumps (lesions) in a ring pattern. It mostly affects the hands and feet. Medrol 4 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of Granuloma annulare.
Multiple sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis is a neurological condition that affects the brain and the spinal cord. It occurs when the immune system attacks and damages the protective sheath called myelin that covers the nerve fibres. Medrol 4 MG Tablet is used in treating the symptoms of multiple sclerosis such as numbness, impairment of speech, blurred vision, etc.
Leukaemia
Leukaemia refers to cancer that starts in blood-forming tissue, usually the bone marrow (a spongy substance found in the center of the bones). Medrol 4 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of this condition.
