Description
Macrotor Stat 2000 MG Syrup is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the nose, throat, tonsils, ear, lungs and skin, etc. It works by blocking the formation of proteins required for bacterial growth. Thus, it prevents further bacterial growth and multiplication. Macrotor Stat 2000 MG Syrup is only effective in treating bacterial infections.
Macrotor Stat 2000 MG Syrup may cause some common side effects such as stomach pain, diarrhoea, nausea, headache, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or if they become severe. Avoid activities like driving vehicles and operating machines as this medicine may make you feel dizzy.
Macrotor Stat 2000 MG Syrup can be taken with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor. Your dose will depend on the severity of your condition. Try taking this syrup at the same time every day to maintain a constant level of medicine in your body. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor, as it may lead to antibiotic resistance (a condition where infection-causing organisms develop the ability to defeat the effect of drugs designed to kill them).

What is it prescribed for?
Community-Acquired Pneumonia
Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) refers to pneumonia (lung infection) that is acquired in a community setting. CAP can be bacterial or viral. Macrotor Stat 2000 MG Syrup is used to treat CAP caused by bacteria by reducing the swelling in the lungs and alveoli (tiny air sacs inside the lungs).
Acute bacterial Sinusitis
Sinusitis is the swelling sinuses (hollow spaces inside your skull). It is often caused by bacteria and sometimes, viruses and fungi. You may experience a stuffed nose and pain or pressure behind your eyes, nose, cheeks, or forehead. Macrotor Stat 2000 MG Syrup is used to treat bacterial sinusitis and provides relief in three to eight weeks.

Diarrhoea
Macrotor Stat 2000 MG Syrup can cause diarrhoea because it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Inform your doctor if you experience severe diarrhoea while receiving this medicine.
Antibiotic resistance
Finish your entire course of treatment with Macrotor Stat 2000 MG Syrup, even if your condition gets better to avoid antibiotic resistance (a condition where infection-causing organisms develop the ability to defeat the effect of drugs designed to kill them). If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, consult your doctor.
Driving or operating machinery
Macrotor Stat 2000 MG Syrup may cause blurred vision, dizziness, or drowsiness and hence do not perform any activities such as driving vehicles or operating machines if you experience any of these symptoms.
Antacids
If you are taking an antacid containing Aluminium and Magnesium salts for indigestion, it can increase the time taken by Macrotor Stat 2000 MG Syrup to act on your body. Because of this, it is recommended to take this antibiotic at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking antacids.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose of Macrotor Stat 2000 MG Syrup as soon as possible. If it is already time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose.
