Description
Lumerax Dry Syrup is a combination medicine used to treat non-severe malaria when certain other antimalarial medications become ineffective. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a severe or complicated malaria. Also, it should not be used for malaria prevention.

What is it prescribed for?
Acute uncomplicated malaria
This medicine is used to treat acute uncomplicated malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum strain of the parasite. It may also be used for the treatment of malaria that is resistant to other medicines like chloroquine or sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine combinations.

Hormonal contraceptives

QT prolongation
This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from QT prolongation due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Close monitoring of heart function and vital signs, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.
