Description

Itaspor 2% Powder is an antifungal medication used to treat skin infections caused by a fungus (yeast). Fungi are small organisms that are present in our surroundings such as air, soil, plants and water. Some live in the human body and are responsible for causing infections. Fungal infections may cause redness, itching, and blisters on the skin. Itaspor 2% Powder is used to treat athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, nappy rash, skin, fingernails and toenails infections caused by fungus. Itaspor 2% Powder may rarely cause burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the application site. These symptoms last only for a very few days and disappear with time. Do not use this dusting powder if you are previously allergic to it. Sprinkle Itaspor 2% Powder to the affected areas of the skin 1 or 2 times daily. Wash your hands before and after each application. Keep the affected area clean and dry because the presence of water can increase fungal growth.

What is it prescribed for?

Cutaneous Candidiasis

Cutaneous candidiasis is a fungal infection of the skin and nails. It usually occurs when the skin is exposed to moisture for a long time. The skin between the fingers and toes, around the fingernails and toenails, are the most affected areas. Itaspor 2% Powder is used for the treatment of cutaneous candidiasis to stop the growth of fungus.

Tinea Cruris

Tinea cruris or jock itch is a fungal infection on the moist and warm areas of the body like the genitals, inner thighs and buttocks. This infection is more common in people who sweat a lot, are overweight, or wear tight-fitting clothing. The rashes may burn or feel itchy, and the skin may be flaky or scaly. Itaspor 2% Powder is used in the treatment of tinea cruris.

Tinea Corporis

Tinea corporis or ringworm is a rash on the skin caused by a fungal infection. It is not caused due to a worm as its name suggests. It is called ringworm because it appears as small, ring- or circle-shaped and mainly affects legs and arms. This infection is more common in people living in hot humid weathers. Itaspor 2% Powder is used in the treatment of tinea corporis.

Tinea Pedis

Tinea pedis or Athlete's foot is a fungal foot infection that usually begins between the toes and spread to the toenails. It occurs when fungus grows on the feet. You may get this infection by coming into contact with infected skin, or fungus in the environment. This condition is common in people whose feet have become very sweaty while confined within tight-fitting shoes. Itaspor 2% Powder is used in the treatment of tinea pedis.

Tinea Versicolor

Tinea Versicolor or Pityriasis Versicolor is a common fungal infection that causes small, lighter or darker patches of skin. It occurs due to the overgrowth of fungus in the body. This infection is more common in people who sweat a lot, have oily skin, or live in hot and humid weather. Itaspor 2% Powder is used in the treatment of tinea versicolor.

Sprinkle a small amount of Itaspor 2% Powder to the affected areas 1 or 2 times daily. Finish your entire prescribed period of treatment even if your symptoms begin to clear up after a few days. Do not use a bandage or dressing to cover the affected areas unless directed by the doctor. If you have a fungal infection, wash your clothes, socks or tights thoroughly every day and also avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes.
