Description

Halox 0.05 % Cream is a topical medicine that is used to treat skin conditions such as eczema (thick, dry, and itchy skin), dermatitis (irritation of the skin), psoriasis (a condition in which skin cells build up and cause dry, itchy, and scaly patches), etc. Halox 0.05 % Cream works by blocking certain chemicals in your body that cause swelling, itching, and irritation. Halox 0.05 % Cream shows side effects such as redness, itching, irritation, dryness, and a burning sensation at the site of application. These are usually mild and subside by themselves. However, consult your doctor if they persist or worsen. Avoid using this medicine if you are allergic to it. Halox 0.05 % Cream is for external use only. Avoid contact with your eyes, nose, mouth, and open wounds. In case of accidental contact, wash thoroughly with water. Do not apply more than the prescribed quantity of this medicine. Halox 0.05 % Cream is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age. Inform your doctor if you are using any other topical medications or have other skin conditions before starting treatment with this medicine. Hyperadrenocorticism, also known as Cushing's syndrome, is a condition that occurs due to high cortisol (a chemical substance that helps your body respond to stress, regulate blood sugar, and fight infections) levels in the body. High doses of Halox 0.05 % Cream should be used with caution as it may cause or worsen hyperadrenocorticism, in rare cases.

Ocular Toxicities

Prolonged use of high doses of Halox 0.05 % Cream may cause cataracts (a cloudy layer that forms in the lens of the eye) or increased fluid pressure inside the eye. Hence, it should be used with caution if you have a history of cataracts or glaucoma (an eye condition with abnormally high pressure inside the eye that may lead to vision loss).
