Description

Glevo 500 MG Infusion is fluoroquinolone antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections affecting the lungs, skin and urinary tract - the kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra. This injection is effective against a large number of bacteria. It kills or prevents the growth of bacteria in the body. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. The side effects of Glevo 500 MG Infusion are diarrhoea, skin rash, pain at the injection site, headache, weakness, and dizziness. It can also cause muscle damage, usually in the ankle. These side effects are temporary and they self-resolve within a few days after the treatment. Glevo 500 MG Infusion is injected into a vein. Your doctor will determine how many doses you need each day and how often the injections should be given. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment.

What is it prescribed for?

Cystitis

Cystitis is the swelling of the urinary bladder usually caused by a bacterial infection. This is more common in women because their urethra is much shorter, which means bacteria can go into the bladder more easily. Glevo 500 MG Infusion is used to treat cystitis caused by bacteria.

Pyelonephriits

Pyelonephritis is the swelling of the kidneys due to bacterial infection. This infection starts in your urethra or bladder and spreads through the ureters to the kidneys. Glevo 500 MG Infusion is used to treat pyelonephritis.

Skin and soft tissue infections

Skin and soft tissue infections occur when the bacteria invade the skin and its supporting structures. Glevo 500 MG Infusion is used to treat all skin infections including abscess caused by bacteria.

Community-Acquired Pneumonia

Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) refers to pneumonia (lung infection) that is acquired outside the hospital. CAP can be bacterial or viral. Glevo 500 MG Infusion is used to treat CAP caused by bacteria like Mycoplasma pneumonia, Streptococcus pneumonia, Haemophilus influenzae, etc.

Bronchitis

Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. Glevo 500 MG Infusion is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.

Inhalation Anthrax

Complicated UTI's are caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria (the bacteria may become non-responsive to more than one antibiotic) and can occur due to structural and functional abnormalities of the urinary tract. Glevo 500 MG Infusion is used to treat complicated urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.

Allergy

Tendinitis or tendon rupture

Glevo 500 MG Infusion can cause muscle damage especially in old age. Do not use Glevo 500 MG Infusion if you have tendonitis (swelling of fibres that attach bone with muscles) or tendon rupture (a partial or complete tear of the tendon- the tissue that connects muscle to bone).

Myasthenia gravis

Myasthenia gravis is a skeletal muscle weakness condition characterized by severe weakness of any of the muscles under your voluntary control, including the arms and legs. Glevo 500 MG Infusion should be avoided in patients with myasthenia gravis since it may get worsen.
