Eutropin Injection is a synthetic human growth hormone. It is used in the treatment of growth hormone deficiency in both children and adults. It is also used to treat other genetic conditions such as Turner syndrome, Noonan syndrome (conditions that cause developmental abnormalities), etc. This medicine works by regulating the growth and development of cells in your body. Eutropin Injection may result in certain side effects such as headache, joint pain, muscle pain, sleeplessness, etc. However, these side effects may subside by themselves as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or if they become severe. Eutropin Injection is given by your doctor in a clinic or a hospital setting. What is it prescribed for?

Growth hormone deficiency

Eutropin Injection is used in the treatment of Growth hormone deficiency (GHD), also known as dwarfism or pituitary dwarfism. It is a condition in which the pituitary gland (the gland located at the base of your brain) does not produce enough growth hormone, resulting in insufficient amounts of growth hormone in your body. GHD may be congenital (present at birth) or acquired (developed later).

Turner syndrome

Eutropin Injection is used in the treatment of Turner syndrome, a condition that affects only females. It occurs when one of the sex chromosomes (X chromosomes) is completely or partially missing. This condition may result in short height, heart defects, delayed puberty, infertility, learning disabilities, etc.

Noonan syndrome

Eutropin Injection is used in the treatment of Noonan syndrome. It is a genetic condition that causes abnormal development in various parts of your body. It may result in unusual facial features, short height, heart defects, bleeding problems, skeletal malformations (problems with bone structure), etc.

Small for gestational age (SGA)

Diabetic retinopathy

Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes (high blood sugar levels) that affects your eyes. Symptoms may include blurred vision, which may progress to blindness in severe cases. Eutropin Injection is not recommended if you have diabetic retinopathy due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.

Closed epiphyses

Eutropin Injection is not recommended for growth promotion if you have closed epiphysis (closed growth plates at the end of your long bones) as it may result in severe side effects.
