Description

E-Sylate-T Tablet is a combination medicine that consists of tranexamic acid and ethamsylate. It is used for the treatment of prolonged or heavy menstrual bleeding. This medicine prevents the breakdown of blood clots in your body and also increases the ability of platelets to stick together and helps in the formation of blood clots. Thus, E-Sylate-T Tablet effectively control excessive bleeding. E-Sylate-T Tablet shows common side effects like nausea, stomach pain, headache, and joint pain. It may also cause diarrhoea in some people. Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration if you experience diarrhoea. Consult your doctor at the earliest if any of these side effects persist or worsen. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. E-Sylate-T Tablet is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age. E-Sylate-T Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take this medicine at the same time every day as prescribed by your doctor and do not change the dose and frequency on your own. Do not stop using this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor. Consult your doctor if you do not notice any improvement in 3 consecutive periods. E-Sylate-T Tablet can impact the action of other medicines. Inform your doctor if you have any other medical conditions such as kidney or heart problems, porphyria, bleeding disorder, etc. and also your ongoing medicines. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding before taking this medicine. Your doctor may monitor your clotting or bleeding time and advise eye checkups for safety aspects.

Porphyria

Eye disorders

E-Sylate-T Tablet is not recommended for use if you have a history of any medical condition where the blood vessels of the eye are obstructed due to clot formation.

Fever

E-Sylate-T Tablet may cause an increase in body temperature in some people. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience a high fever.

Use in children

E-Sylate-T Tablet is not recommended for use in children less than 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use have not been studied.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take a E-Sylate-T Tablet dose, make sure that you remember to take your next dose when it is due. Do not take two doses together to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Take E-Sylate-T Tablet with or without food or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more or fewer doses than the prescribed quantity of this medicine. Stick to simple meals and avoid spicy rich food in order to avoid feeling sick. If you get diarrhoea while taking this medicine, consult your doctor immediately. Along with taking E-Sylate-T Tablet, you can use a heating pad to get relief during periods. Inform your doctor if there is no improvement in your bleeding after using this medicine for three consecutive periods. Do not crush, break or chew E-Sylate-T Tablet in the mouth. Take the tablet immediately after peeling it from the strip. Keep the medicine away from the reach of children and pets. Ensure that the unused or expired medicine is disposed of properly.

How it works

E-Sylate-T Tablet contains tranexamic acid and ethamsylate. Tranexamic acid works by preventing certain enzymes that break down a blood clot formed in the body. Ethamsylate acts by stabilizing the walls of the capillaries, increasing platelet aggregation to form clots, thus controls bleeding.
