Description

Dilgel 2% Tube is a medication that contains diltiazem as the main ingredient. It is used rectally to treat anal fissures (tears on the wall of the anus). Dilgel 2% Tube helps in relieving pain caused due to anal fissures. This medicine also helps to relieve anal spasms. Diltiazem is preferred when other medicines like glyceryl trinitrate are not effective in treating anal fissures. Dilgel 2% Tube works by blocking the calcium channels and thereby increasing blood flow to the anus. Thus it relieves pain and swelling. Dilgel 2% Tube shows some side effects that include rectal bleeding, burning sensation, itching and irritation at the application site, headache, etc. If any of these symptoms persist for a long time or bothers you, consult your doctor immediately. Avoid using Dilgel 2% Tube if you are allergic to it. Dilgel 2% Tube is for external use only. Avoid contact with your eyes and mouth. In case of accidental contact, wash immediately with water. Wash and dry the affected area before application. Apply a small amount of Dilgel 2% Tube to the affected area once a day or as instructed by your doctor. Make sure to wash your hands before and after use. Dilgel 2% Tube should be used after consulting with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor may prescribe laxative or stool softeners along with Dilgel 2% Tube to avoid constipation. Drink plenty of water while using this medicine to ensure free motion.
