Description
Cyproterone Acetate is used to treat some types of prostate cancers. It may also be used to reduce abnormal sex drive in men. It may also be used in a combination with other medicines to treat conditions such as acne, loss of hair (alopecia), excessive facial hair growth in women (hirsutism), etc.

What is it prescribed for?
Prostatic carcinoma
This medicine is used in the treatment of certain types of prostate cancers.
Reduction of Drive in Sexual Deviations
This medicine is used to reduce sexual drive in male patients suffering from paraphilia (sexual deviation).
Androgenization
This medicine is used to treat signs and symptoms of androgenization such as androgen-dependent loss of scalp hair (alopecia), hirsutism (excessive hair growth in female patients - on the face, chest, back, etc.), androgen-dependent acne, etc.

Diabetes Mellitus
This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from diabetes mellitus since it may reduce the effectiveness of anti-diabetic medications. Close monitoring of blood sugar levels is recommended for these patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Osteoporosis
