Description

Ceftas 100 MG Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections affecting the lungs, throat, kidneys, bladder, ureter, and urethra. It is also used to treat a sexually transmitted infection called gonorrhoea. This medicine kills bacteria and prevents the spread of infections. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses or fungi. Ceftas 100 MG Tablet has some common side effects such as diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen. Avoid any activity that requires concentration if you feel drowsy after taking this medicine. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. Ceftas 100 MG Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take it as directed by your doctor and ensure that you complete the entire course of this medicine. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own, as it may cause re-infection that would be difficult to treat. Contact your doctor if you do not feel better even after completing the course of treatment. Ceftas 100 MG Tablet may not be suitable for everyone. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems or any other health conditions before taking this medicine. Also, inform your doctor about all your current medications to avoid any undesired effects. If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking Ceftas 100 MG Tablet.

What is it prescribed for?

Urinary Tract Infection

Infections in any part of your urinary system (kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra) are called urinary tract infections (UTIs). UTIs are caused by bacteria and, in some cases, by viruses or fungi. Ceftas 100 MG Tablet is used to treat urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.

Gonorrhoea

Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted disease caused by Neisseria gonorrhoea bacteria that infects both men and women. It is caused by unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected person. Ceftas 100 MG Tablet is used to treat Gonorrhoea.

Pharyngitis/Tonsillitis

Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are infections that cause swelling and soreness in the throat and tonsils. If the infection affects both the throat and the tonsils, it is called pharyngotonsillitis. Ceftas 100 MG Tablet is used to treat pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and/or pharyngotonsillitis.

Acute bronchitis

Acute bronchitis is a condition in which the bronchial tubes that carry air to and from the lungs become inflamed. It causes narrowing of the airways leading to symptoms such as coughing and wheezing. Ceftas 100 MG Tablet is used to treat acute bronchitis caused by bacteria.

Acute Otitis Media

Acute Otitis media (AOM) is an infection of the middle ear (the area behind the eardrum). Ceftas 100 MG Tablet is used to treat acute otitis media caused by bacteria.

General warnings

Diarrhoea

Ceftas 100 MG Tablet may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. This leads to an overgrowth of the Clostridium difficile bacteria which releases toxins and cause severe diarrhoea. Seek medical help if you experience severe diarrhoea that persists or worsens.

Antibiotic resistance

Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria evolve and gain the ability to defeat the antibiotics intended to kill them. Finish your entire course of treatment with Ceftas 100 MG Tablet, even if your condition gets better after a few doses, to avoid antibiotic resistance. Consult your doctor if you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course.

Driving or operating machines

Ceftas 100 MG Tablet may cause dizziness, confusion, or fits in some cases. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines if you experience such symptoms.

Allergic skin reaction

Ceftas 100 MG Tablet is likely to cause severe skin reactions. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, blisters (fluid-filled bumps), or lesions (a part of the skin that has an abnormal growth or appearance).

Liver diseases

Ceftas 100 MG Tablet may increase liver enzyme levels and cause liver damage. Hence, this medicine should be used with caution if you have liver problems. Your doctor may adjust the dose of this medicine based on your clinical condition.

Seizures

How it works
