Description

Carmicide Drops is a medicine that contains Simethicone. It is used to reduce excessive gas in the stomach and relieve the symptoms like stomach discomfort, abdominal pain, fullness, and bloating/flatulence (accumulation of gas in the stomach) in infants and children below two years of age. This medicine works by reducing stomach discomfort by expelling gas. Carmicide Drops has mild side effects like nausea and constipation. These side effects subside by themselves. Consult your doctor if these symptoms bother your child or worsen. Avoid using this medicine if your child is allergic to it. Carmicide Drops should be given with food or milk before bedtime. Give these drops to your child in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not give more than the prescribed dose as it may lead to severe side effects. Carmicide Drops may not be suitable for all children. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor about your child's complete medical history including kidney or liver problems if any, and all your child's ongoing medication.

It may also be used prior to an endoscopic or radiologic examination to eliminate gas from the stomach and enhance visualization.
