Description

Azom 1 g Injection is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, skin, bones, joints, stomach, and intestine. Azom 1 g Injection may also be used before, during, and after surgery to prevent infection. Azom 1 g Injection works by killing bacteria. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses or fungi. Azom 1 g Injection shows side effects like redness, irritation, or swelling at the injection site, diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache,nausea, and vomiting. Contact your doctor if these side effects become severe or persist for a longer duration. Azom 1 g Injection is given directly into a muscle or into a vein. Your doctor will determine how many doses you would need each day and how often the injections should be given based on the severity and location of the infection. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. Azom 1 g Injection is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart problems and also about your ongoing medicines before receiving this injection. Also, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding before using this medicine.

What is it prescribed for?

Urinary Tract Infection

A urinary tract infection, or UTI, is an infection in any part of your urinary system, which includes your kidneys, bladder, ureters, and urethra. Azom 1 g Injection is used in the treatment of infections of the urinary tract caused by bacteria.

Gynecological infections

Azom 1 g Injection is used in the treatment of gynecological infections such as pelvic inflammatory disease (infection of reproductive organs), endometritis (inflammation of the uterus ), etc. caused by bacteria.

Serious abdominal infection

Azom 1 g Injection is used in the treatment of abdominal (stomach area) infections caused by bacteria.

Bacterial skin infections

Azom 1 g Injection is used for the treatment of skin and skin structure infections such as cellulitis, wound infections, etc. caused by bacteria.

Lower Respiratory Tract Infection

Azom 1 g Injection is used to treat the following lower respiratory tract infections: 1. Pneumonia: It is an infection of the air sacs in the lungs (either single or both lungs). Pneumonia can be bacterial and viral. Clindamycin is used to treat pneumonia caused by bacteria. 2. Bronchitis: It is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulate air passage in the lungs. Clindamycin is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.

Bone and Joint infections

Infection occurring in the bone is called osteomyelitis; whereas, infection of the joint is called septic arthritis. These types of infections can spread to the bones and joints through the bloodstream. Azom 1 g Injection is used for the treatment of osteomyelitis and septic arthritis caused by bacteria.

Liver Disease

Azom 1 g Injection should be used with caution if you have liver problems. This medicine may further increase the risk of increased liver enzymes and liver damage. Inform your doctor of any history of jaundice (a condition that causes your skin and whites of the eyes to turn yellow) or other liver conditions you may have so he/she may prescribe an alternate medicine or recommend dose adjustments.

Antibiotic resistance
