Description

The primary ingredient of Atropine 0.5 mg Infusion is an anticholinergic medicine that produces many effects in the body. This medicine is used for the management of bradycardia (slow heart rate) caused by heart block or any other medical conditions. It is also used to decrease the production of saliva and other fluid secretions during surgery. It is effective to treat severe spasms or cramps in the stomach, intestines, and other organs of the body. It is also sometimes used as an antidote for poisoning by certain insecticides.

What is it prescribed for?

Bradyarrhythmia

This medicine is used for the management of bradycardia (slow heart rate) caused by conditions like bradyarrhythmia, heart block, or any other medical conditions by increasing the heart rate and the cardiac output. It also prevents the cholinergic effects on the heart during surgical procedures.

Preoperative medication

This medicine is used as a preoperative medication (before surgeries) to decrease bronchial secretions and excessive salivation.

Organophosphate Poisoning

This medicine acts as an antidote in the treatment of organophosphate poisoning.

Radiographic Examinaton

This medicine is used during some radiographic examination procedures to relax the upper gastrointestinal tract and the colon.
