Description

Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup is a penicillin-type antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. This antibiotic is used to treat different types of bacterial infections of the throat, lungs, nose, urinary tract and skin. Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup works by stopping the bacteria to form its cell wall thereby making it weaker and die eventually. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Side effects of Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup are diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin. Use it cautiously in individuals with kidney problems. Take/Administer Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup on an empty stomach. You can take this medicine around the same time every day for ease of remembering. For the best results, take this antibiotic at evenly spaced times. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment.

What is it prescribed for?

Sinusitis

Sinusitis is the swelling of membranes that line your nose and surrounding sinuses. It is often caused by bacteria and sometimes, viruses and fungi. You may experience a stuffed nose and pain or pressure behind your eyes, nose, cheeks, or forehead. Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup is used to treat bacterial sinusitis.

Lung infections

Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup is used to treat the following lung infections: 1. Pneumonia is an infection of the air sacs in the lungs (either single or both lungs). It can be bacterial and viral. Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup is used to treat pneumonia caused by bacteria. 2. Bronchitis is the swelling and irritation of bronchial tubes that regulates air passage in the lungs. Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup is used to treat bronchitis caused by bacteria.

Urinary tract infections

An infection in any part of your urinary system- the kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra is called urinary tract infections (UTIs). UTIs are the most common infections in humans and woman are at greater risk of getting this infection. UTIs are caused by bacteria and in some cases, viruses or fungi. Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup is used to treat urinary tract infections caused by bacteria.

Intra abdominal infection

Intra-abdominal infection (IAI) describes a number of infections. It includes peritonitis (swelling of the peritoneum-lining of the abdominal wall), pancreatitis (swelling of the pancreas- an organ located behind the lower part of the stomach), diverticulitis (swelling of diverticula- one or more small pouches in the intestine), cholecystitis (swelling of the gallbladder-a small digestive organ that sits just under the liver), and cholangitis (swelling of the bile duct system). Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup is used to treat infections occurring within the abdomen caused by bacteria.

Pharyngitis/Tonsilitis

Pharyngitis and tonsillitis are infections that cause swelling and soreness in the throat and tonsils. If this infection affects both the throat and the tonsils, then it would be called pharyngotonsillitis. Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup is used to treat pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and/or pharyngotonsillitis.

Typhoid fever

General warnings

Antibiotic resistance

Finish your entire course of treatment with Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup, even if the condition gets better to avoid antibiotic resistance (the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics). If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, make an appointment to consult your doctor.

Mononucleosis

Mononucleosis is also called kissing disease is an infection caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. It is spread through saliva. People with mononucleosis may develop a maculopapular skin rash (flat and small raised bumps on the skin) after 5-10 days of treatment with Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup and resolves within days of discontinuing the use. Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup may not be appropriate medicine in patients with mononucleosis.

Driving or operating machinery

Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup may cause dizziness, confusion, or fits in some people. Do not drive a vehicle or operate machinery after taking this medicine.

Diarrhoea

Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup can cause diarrhoea because it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Get emergency medical help if you experience severe diarrhoea that is watery or bloody. Call your pharmacist/doctor before taking anti-diarrhoeal medication.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup. And if a dose is skipped, do not add it up to the next dose.

Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup is filtered by the kidney and moved out of the body through urine. Patients with kidney diseases need special consideration while using Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup due to the risk of kidney damage. Dose adjustment should be done based on the clinical condition.

Gastrointestinal Diseases

Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup can kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and leads to diarrhoea. Therefore use Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup with extreme caution in patients with gastrointestinal (mouth to anus) diseases, particularly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon), since it may worsen the patient's condition.

Food interactions

The absorption of Ampurin 125 MG Dry Syrup may be decreased in the presence of food. For proper absorption of the medicine, it should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after the meals.
