Description

Amikapen 500 MG Injection is an antibiotic. It is used to prevent or treat a wide variety of bacterial infections such as infections of the lungs, skin, abdomen, blood, brain, urinary tract, bones and joints. It works by blocking the production of essential proteins required for bacterial growth. This prevents further growth and kills the infection-causing bacteria. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Amikapen 500 MG Injection may cause side effects like pain at the injection site, skin rash, headache, weakness, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines as this medicine may make you feel drowsy or dizzy. Amikapen 500 MG Injection is administered by your doctor in a clinic or a hospital setting. The dose and duration of the treatment will depend on your condition. Follow the instructions given by your doctor. This medication is effective only for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria and not viruses. Amikapen 500 MG Injection is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Intra-abdominal Infection

Intra-abdominal infection is a broad term that includes infections of the organs of the abdomen. It includes peritonitis (swelling of the lining of the abdominal wall), diverticulitis (swelling of diverticula- one or more small pouches in the intestine), cholecystitis (swelling of the gallbladder), cholangitis (swelling of the bile duct system), and pancreatitis (swelling of the pancreas). Amikapen 500 MG Injection is used in the treatment of these infections.

Lower Respiratory Tract Infection

Amikapen 500 MG Injection is used in the treatment of lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia (lung infection), community-acquired pneumonia (lung infection that is acquired outside the hospital), bronchitis (a condition with swelling of the bronchial tubes, the passages that carry the air to and from the lungs).

Bacteremia

Bacteremia is the presence of bacteria in the blood. Bacteria can sometimes enter your bloodstream from dental or medical procedures, or from infections. If this condition left untreated it can lead to septicemia which is an infection of the blood caused by bacteria. Amikapen 500 MG Injection is used for the treatment of bacteremia.

Bone and joint infections

Bone and joint infections occur in the bones and joints. Osteomyelitis is an infection of the bone and septic arthritis is an infection in a joint.
